1933 Ryder Cup Testimonial Dinner Menu to American Team - Hotel Roosevelt

As the 1933 Ryder Cup came to a climax in England, with 15,000 spectators eagerly following the action, the final singles match proved to be one of the most exciting finishes in Ryder Cup history. Britain's Syd Easterbrook and American Denny Shute were all square on the final green facing par putts of approximately 30 feet each. easterbrook putted first and left his approach putt within tap-in range. Shute hit his first putt four feet past the hole and missed the comeback putt. With this the trophy went back to Britain and the series was tied 2-2. This offering, being for only the fourth edition of the Ryder Cup, includes a difficult 1933 Testimonial Dinner to American Ryder Cup team menu. Inside is a black and white photograph of Captain Walter Hagen and each US Team member, including Horton Smith, Craig Wood and Gene Sarazen, that competed in the matches. It is in good condition, with only very slight discoloration on the cover and a crease through the back cover. 7" x 8 3/4." A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
