1932 Bobby Jones/Jimmy Johnston vs Billy Howell/Don Moe Exhibition Match Ticket

It wasn't a fair fight, as Bobby Jones teamed up with fellow US Amateur champion of 1929 Jimmy Johnston on September 18 at James River Country Club of Virginia. "While Bobby Jones and "Jimmy" Johnston were rivals on the golf course, off the course, they had a deep, mutual respect for each other and became quite close friends," stated 100 Years of Minnesota Golf speaking on the golf partner friendship. The adversaries for Jones-Johnston that day: Billy Howell and Don Moe. Gaining admittance and surviving nearly a century is this ducat saved for scrapbooking of the event by a patron. Maintaining strong black print with Bobby in quotation marks along with his partner, who's legal name was Harrison. It represented one of the very few opportunities to see Bobby Jones golf, unless you were taking in one of his instructional movies, as Jones was two years removed from both professional golf and his Grand Slam year. This off-white ticket serial numbered 4881, once costing a single dollar, and presents well with signs of usage on the frontside and additional paper adhered on the verso.
