1931 Augusta National Golf Course Master Plan
1931 "Diagrammatic Plan of Augusta National Golf Links." Appears to be an early photographic copy (as in, the Plan's material is more photo-like than a traditional paper print). We are unaware of whether Alister MacKenzie's original hand-signed copy of this Plan still exists, though we have never seen it before. That original plan would be worth upwards of $1 million.
Offered here is what appears to be an original copy of the July 1931 plans for what became Augusta National Golf Club, but is titled here Augusta National "Golf Links." You'll also note that MacKenzie called for the course to be routed the same way that we know Augusta National today, even though the course debuted with the nines reversed.
This rare early Augusta National course layout comes from the Estate of longtime CBS Producer and World Golf Hall of Famer Frank Chirkinian. Vintage mat and frame. The course layout measures approximately 24" x 20" and framed (without glass) to 31" x 28".
AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, June 16th (Father's Day) with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
