1929 Ryder Cup Bon Voyage Dinner Program Signed by Entire Team-PGA Star Joe Kirkwood Pers. Collection

Joe Kirkwood was a respected 1920's star on the PGA Tour after his four victories during the 1924 season. Of Australian birth, Kirkwood with his status in the game well intact attended the going away dinner for the 1929 United States Ryder Cup team held at the Athletic Club in New York. At the event he received this Bon Voyage Dinner program of the 1929 Ryder Cup team. In keeping with the tradition of the day each team member has signed their respective biographies within the program with many adding well thought out personalized comments to their fellow PGA pro Kirkwood. The forward to this program comes under the penning of Hall of Fame writer Grantland Rice (who has also added his signature to this treasure). The 1929 Ryder Cup matches were held at Moortown Golf Club, the second installment of the matches ever held. Great Britain won the matches 7 to 5. The following bold fountain pen signatures appear throughout the program next to each players individual photograph:
