1927 US Open Championship Ticket - Tommy Armour Winner - Seldom Seen
In 1927 the United States Golf Association brought their Championship to Oakmont Country Club, just outside Pittsburgh, PA for the first time. They found a course and area that fit their needs shall we say, to a tee. This favovite local of the U.S.G.A. will host its ninth U.S. Open in 2016. The offered 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" seldom seen ticket to the 1927 Championship of golf in the United States retains it's highly attractive brown coloring and original string attachment. Their is center creasing which is more pronouned on the reverse of ticket, then the front where it appears to blend in. The Hall of Famer Tommy Armour will always be remembered as the first U.S. Open Champion in a long line which includes Nicklaus and Hogan at Oakmont.
