1919 Inter-Allied Games Bronze Medal Awarded to F. Weatherby Smith - Great Britain
The golfing competition at the 1919 Inter-Allied Games was held at La Boulie in Versailles, France. The competition was then open to all military personal from the countries that made up the Allies of World War I. The competition included men's individual and team events. The team event was played between France, Great Britain and the United States. The event structure included foursome matches in the morning, with eight singles matches in the afternoon. France went on to best the United States 8-4. This bronze medal was awarded to Great Britain's F. Weatherby. The front side of the medal features a crowning and has the Latin phrase "Corporis Robur el Habilitas" which roughly translates to strength capacity. The reverse includes F. Weatherby - Great Britain Third and Pershing Stadium Paris June 1919. It is in good condition, with only slight surface wear. It comes in its original case and measures 2 1/2" in diameter.
