1904 Promissory Note To J. H. Taylor from H. L. Curtis for £255 - Taylor Initialed
A promissory note from H. L. Curtis to J. H. Taylor is offered here. Curtis was a golf ball maker and agreed to pay Taylor weekly installments on the total amount of £255. John Henry Taylor was an English golfer who along with Harry Vardon and James Braid dominated British golf at the turn of the 20th century, earning them the nickname the "Great Triumvirate." Taylor won five Open Championships (1894, 1895, 1900, 1909, 1913) and was runner-up to Vardon at the 1900 U.S. Open.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.

All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. Still the lowest rate among major golf auction houses, a buyer's premium of 17.5% for all items is now in effect. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended.
