1897 Colonel Bogey Display with Bernard Darwin Quotation - Framed
The Gosport and Stokes Bay Golf Club, formerly United Services Golf Club, was formed in 1885. Captain Seely Vidal, R.E. insisted that a name and title was given to the mythical "Bogey" opponent brought over from the Great Yarmouth Club in 1892. Vidal insisted on a rank nothing less than Colonel, and that is how Colonel Bogey came to be. The frame measures 17 1/2" x 24 1/2" and presents in good condition.
