1887 'Art of Golf' Book by Sir W.G. Simpson Signed by Peter McEwan Sr.

Here we have a copy of the 1887 work by Sir W. G. Simpson "Art of Golf." The book is largely instructional, but includes also some history of the game of golf, and praise of the game and the players and caddies of the time. This copy is signed by Peter McEwan Sr, a Scottish club maker and professional golfer who finished in 6th place at the second British Open in 1861. This lot offers an incredible opportunity for bidders to own a piece of antique golf literature, as well as a signature very seldom seen. The book is in good condition, with some wear to the spine and discoloration, please refer to photographs.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on Sunday, January 29th with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
